Dharma and Retreat Centers

This is a listing of the centers I am familiar with and can recommend as places to receive Dharma teachings with experienced teachers and to do group meditation practices.  Not all of the centers listed have over-night retreat facilities.  Please check their websites for more details of their classes and other offerings.  Wherever you live, I encourage you to find Dharma and Retreat Centers near you.  The guidance of an experienced teacher is extremely valuable for deepening one’s understanding of Buddhism, and the support of a meditation community can provide encouragement for those times when your interest in practicing meditation wanes.  Doing a meditation retreat, whether a half day, a weekend, or longer, takes our meditation practice to an entirely different level.
